If I had to describe my virtual launch party in one word, what I would choose is:
MOVING
It was moving that my childhood friend who is a single parent who works so many hours AND is getting her science degree on the side would take precious down time to interview many of my family members and friends and then spend HOURS editing them into beautiful compilations.
It was moving that 9 of the AMAZING women who trusted me with their stories would show up for the live launch event and share more of themselves with those who attended.
It was MOVING that some of the women who couldn’t be there live took time to make a video for it.
It was MOVING to see my husband’s tears because he is proud of me.
It was MOVING to see my Mom, Aunt, Sister, BROTHER, Niece (who had the flu and a toddler), and step-daughter show up for me and tell me they were proud.
It was MOVING to hear the beautiful words my family and friends had to say about me. I could feel their care for me and that they felt my failures in their hearts.
It was MOVING to see my friends spend 2 hours of their precious Sunday on zoom to support me.
It was MOVING to share the song that I got to write with my husband and have my stepdaughter perform with her beautiful voice.
It was MOVING to hear that people who don’t read said they were inspired to read MY book.
It was MOVING to hear the love and support the women who contributed their stories to the book felt for one another.
It was one of the most beautiful moments of my life.
Thank you to all of you who MOVED me.
If you weren’t able to attend, here’s the replay.
